Why I Created the Neurodivergent Hobby Club

Why I Created the Neurodivergent Hobby Club

You’ve probably tried managing your hobbies on your own before. I get it, I've been there.

As someone who experienced firsthand challenges of balancing work and hobbies while navigating neurodivergence & a chronic health issue.

After years of trial & error (and starting over 15 hobbies to drop them weeks later), I finally found an approach that works.

The Neurodivergent Hobby Club was designed for people like you: multipassionate, creative and someone who has a lot that lights them up but never seem to get to them.

The Neurodivergent Hobby Club was designed for people like you: multipassionate, creative and someone who has a lot that lights them up but never seem to get to them.

If you’ve tried to manage hobbies on your own before, you know how frustrating it can be.

You start with excitement… and then hit the same obstacles.

But when you shift how you approach hobbies—when you stop forcing rigid systems and instead create a flow that works with your brain—everything starts to feel easier.

You start with excitement… and then hit the same obstacles.

But when you shift how you approach hobbies—when you stop forcing rigid systems and instead create a flow that works with your brain—everything starts to feel easier.

Here’s what that shift actually looks like:

  • Free time disappears into scrolling, chores, or “just one more task”

  • You love hobbies but never feel ready to start

  • Hobbies feel like a luxury, not a priority

  • You don’t trust yourself to follow through

  • You constantly think, “I should be doing something productive instead” and feel guilty switching hobbies or taking breaks

  • You finally have time for hobbies—without forcing it and actually use the supplies you own

  • You have brain-friendly ways to start, even on low-energy days

  • Hobbies fuel your energy, focus, and creativity—making everything else easier

  • You finally feel like the kind of person who actually does the things they love

  • You know how to carve out hobby time without it feeling like another to-do

Frequently Asked Questions

I'm not neurodivergent but struggle with this, can I join?

Even though this club was born becuase many of us who have ND tendencies struggle with hobbies.

I know this issue effects those who identify as multi-passiionate, creatives...Or even those with a tendency to buy hobby supplies just for them to collect dust a month later. (can I get a silent nod of confirmation?)

If you've read this page and identify with what it solves then you're more than welcome to join.

As the problem is bigger than diagnosises or identity labels.

We also know parents or family members who want to better support their neurodivergent children can use this as a way to bond and understand the ones they love better who have a hard time with consistency.

Why don't I just do this on my own & save the $19/mo?

Sure, you could! But here’s the thing: how often have you set up all those systems, reminders, and plans only for them to fizzle out?

The Neurodivergent Hobby Club©️ is here to be that little push, that supportive community, and that friendly nudge to keep you going.

We provide the resources, the accountability, and the structure so you can focus on the fun parts—without the solo struggle.

I've never been able to stick with something consistently, how can I make sure this will *actually* works for me?

We totally get it! That’s why we’ve designed the club to fit around the way your brain works.

Instead of expecting you to change, we’ve created a system that encourages exploration at your own pace, with zero guilt if you want to switch things up.

You’re free to drop hobbies or anything that that doesn't feel good to you without any pressure to “stick” with it.

Here's a quick criteria of who will thrive here:

  • Multipassionate individuals juggling numerous interests

  • Neurodivergent creatives seeking brain-friendly productivity methods

  • Anyone who's ever hyperfixated on a hobby, only to drop it entirely

  • Creative souls yearning for a supportive, judgment-free community

Is there an age limit or for women only?

Nope! The Neurodivergent Hobby Club©️ is open to everyone—all ages, all genders, all backgrounds.

Whether you’re 16 or 60, identifying as male, female, non-binary, or anything in between, you’re welcome here.

We’re all about creating a space where anyone who loves to explore hobbies, chase that dopamine rush, and embrace variety can feel at home. So, if that sounds like you, come join the fun!

We have an all are welcome here policy. We do not allow discrimination or harrassment of any kind in the community.

Does I have to do only creative/art hobbies?

Nope! Hobbies is pretty loose term for an activity you want to do more of that brings you joy.

Anything from rock climbing, chess, hip hop classes, learning code, journalling, painting, cooking, reading, photography, etc.

What if I join and then forget about it?

Totally understandable! That’s exactly why the ForgetMeNot System exists. You’ll get gentle, no-pressure nudges to remind you about your hobby on the schedule you choose.

And why we designed the club to be zero-pressure and flexible—you can engage as much or as little as you want.

You don’t need hours of free time to benefit from hobbies.

Even a few minutes a day of the right kind of hobby time reduces stress, boosts focus, and makes everything else in life feel a little easier.

Even if you only pop in for a monthly hobby experiment, a challenge, or a small win, you’ll still get value.

Think of it as your hobby safety net, here when you need it, no guilt if you don’t.

This isn’t about doing more—it’s about making the things you already love easier to return to.

I have ADHD and struggle with commitment—will I just forget about this?

We get it—that’s why we’ve built in systems to help you re-engage without stress.

-The ForgetMeNot System sends gentle nudges to remind you about your hobby, but only in a way that feels helpful, never overwhelming.

- The Hobby Time Portal gives you a small, low-pressure way to track progress, even if it’s just “I thought about my hobby today.”

No overwhelming notifications—just the right amount of support to help you return without feeling bad about it.

You don’t need to be “consistent” to make this work, you just need to come back when it feels right.

What if I join and forget about it?

Hey! I'm Danielle

Growing up, I cycled through a new hobby every year— piano, karate, tap dancing. Not because I was lazy or indecisive, but because multipassionate people like us thrive on variety.

Society tells us that mastery requires repetition, but I’ve found that true fulfillment comes from embracing all our passions—not forcing ourselves into one.

I used to think the only thing I could stick to was work because deadlines held me accountable.

Meanwhile, my hobbies? They came and went, collecting dust as I promised myself I’d get back to them someday.

But here’s what changed: I stopped trying to force motivation and started working with my brain instead of against it.

Now, I balance two consistent hobbies alongside a full-time career, weekly friend outings, and daily movement—without feeling overwhelmed.

I realized there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to hobbies. But there are breadcrumbs—patterns, strategies, and tiny shifts that make it easier to show up.

I take everything I’ve learned from personal experience, research-backed strategies, and real-life trial & error to help others find what works for them.

If you haven’t found your flow yet, we’ll keep experimenting together until you do.
